The Extract filter
We can use tools in the Extract dialog box to determine which parts of the image to extract.
We can resize the dialog box by dragging its bottom right corner.
We can use the Background Eraser tool to facilitate the editing of images.
Extract filter dialog box provides a sophisticated way to isolate the foreground object and remove the background in the layers. Even objects
with a thin edge, complex, or perhaps undefinable cut from their backgrounds with a minimum of manual work.
If we do extract the object, Photoshop remove background to transparency. Pixels on the edge of the object color component originating from the background, so they can blend in with the new
background without producing a color halo.
To extract objects from backgrounds
In the Layers palette, select the layer that contains the object that we want to extract.
If we choose the background layer, into a normal layer after extraction.
If the layer contains options, which remove the background extraction only in selected areas.
To avoid losing the original image information, duplicate layer or create a snapshot of the original image state.
Select Filter> Extract, select Brush size Enter the value, or drag the slider to specify the width
