Creating Page Setups

Style choices depend on the
output device selected. For
example, PIF and SCSI choices
are limited to Monochrome and
CMYK Separations, whereas
available styles for “None” and
“Preview” include Monochrome
Contone, Monochrome
Halftone, RGB Composite,
CMYK Composite, CMYK
Separations (contone), and
CMYK Separations (halftone).
Some output plug-ins allow
you to set the color-generation
mode using the “Configure
Device” button, in which case
“Style” choices list only the
separations styles corresponding
to the selected color-generation
mode.
NOTE: The choice of separations
style determines the color space and
format of the output.
The Separations Manager
shortcut button generates the
Separations Manager dialog box
(discussed after the Color functions),
which can also be generated by
clicking the “Separations Manager”
button on the HQ RIP tool bar.
Color choices include all available
color setups for the currently
selected device and color space.
The choice of separations style
determines the color space.
Separations, Screening & Color
The Separations, Screening & Color section of the Page Setup dialog

box (Figure 3-9) allows you to specify color and select undercolor
removal options.

The Color Setup Manager button
(to the right of the “Color” drop-
down list) displays the Color Setup
Manager dialog box (Figure 3-10),
from which you can create or edit
a color setup. The Color Setup
Manager is independent of the Page
Setup dialog box. You can create or
edit a color setup in the Color Setup
Manager, even if you do not want
to use it in the current page setup.
If you do want to use a new or
changed color setup, select the color
setup in the Color Setup Manager
and click the “Select” button.
